Western Health completed a safe and successful transition into the new Joan Kirner Women’s & Children’s on 15 May 2019.  This brand new 9 level purpose built women’s and children’s facility will ensure that women, families, children, babies and neonates will receive Best Care.

A hugely exciting aspect of this new build is our transition from a Level 5 to a Level 6 maternity service and a Level 6a newborn service, the opening of a brand new NICU in Victoria at Western Health will enable care to be delivered to neonates in their local catchment and enable women and their babies to be kept together.  As part of this move and to support adequate service provision for our catchment we aim to establish a paediatric services strategic plan.  As the Western catchment grows, so too does demand, so too does opportunity.  With more than 5,700 babies born each year at Sunshine Hospital the importance of this new facility and service expansion is key.   There are so many elements to getting this right, and a critical component of this process is ensuring we have the very best leadership and clinical teams.

If you are looking for a growing, exciting and values driven organisation to work for and an ability to lead a team in a new and innovative direction please give Adele Mollo, Divisional Director for Women's and Children's Services or Associate Professor Glyn Teale, Clinical Services Director for Women's and Children's Services a call on (03) 9055 2400.
