The focus of this web conference is on improving awareness, early recognition and management of Sepsis
It is critically important that hospitals and health services have effective systems for recognising and responding to sepsis in paediatric patients
Since 2017 the QLD State-wide Paediatric Sepsis Working Group and Clinical Excellence Queensland have been working to develop systems to improve the recognition and response to SEPSIS, particularly focused in emergency Department. Dr Paula Lister and Kate Weller will share the approach used and success achieved in reducing harm from SEPSIS, using improvement methodology designed by the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI).
This award winning program(link is external) undertaken in partnership with clinicians and consumers has created a range of resources including a clinical pathway which includes a sepsis screening and recognition tool, a treatment bundle and antibiotic prescribing and administration guidelines. Also available are a range of patient information, posters and education resources
